Tiease exams the growing Hair Weaving Trend!

I am a firm believer in that if there's something a Fashionista can do to make herself feel better about yourself then you should go for it! Today I will be exploring and conversing with you my followers about the hair weaves, wigs, extensions and any hair augmentation that you may be interested in. I would like to begin by knocking down negative stereotypes about weaves etc... and who benefits from them. I enjoy dispelling stereotypes and revealing the truth of the matter concerning hair weaving and hair augmentations.

Where better to start tearing down myths about hair and hair weaves then here?   I will be discussing hair augmentation and a few tools and techniques people have utilized in the desperate pursuit of luxurious full bodied hair. When discussing hair we are taling big business, since billions of dollars are spend in the Americas alone in the pursuit of luxurious hair on hair growning products, hair upkeep, and various wigs and extension. Amazingly both women and males have thurst with zest for beautiful hair. The quest for beautiful hair & hair regrowth products has yielded an alliance between science and cosmotology. Nothing in this on-going big business money making statistics has proven that black women are any different from the rest of the hair orientated population.

In truth white American women especially those among the wealthy upper classes and those in the entertainment industry have committed  generous amounts of cash and time; devoting kudos and patronization to weaves, wigs, hair implants, hair pieces, fillers, and all manner of hair augmentation. The big difference between black and white women wearing hair augmentations is that people tend to automatically accept that the hair upon a caucasions  head is naturally occurring hair. Generally the only thing questioned if anything is ordinarily whether or not her hair colour is genuine.

This has worked to the white Diva's advantage on-the-other hand I've gone out into public wearing my own natural luxurious long hair and been accused of wearing a wig; underwent scrutiny to the point that people assumed I was wearing a wig even though it wasn't a wig. Amazing how stupid stereotypes and dumb assumptions are automatically incorporated in the minds of the population. Of course much of this is jealousy some people are just uncomfortable with an attractive, intelligent, confident black woman and just looks for any little thing to criticize her about. It's sad & ridiculous but it happens. Countless Nubian Divas have had to put up with nonsense assumes but as for myself I believe that it's bad manner to even ask if a person is wearing a wig or weave and that of course it's your hair you paid for it didn't you!! As a black woman you are entitle to bleached hair, weaves and wigs just like any other woman, so there!

It's actually pathetic since black  too many automatically assume that a black women with a luxurious head of  her own naturally occurring beautiful hair is an impossibility. Imagine the prejudice cheek of it!

Perhaps this is partly due to the fact that Black Divas do appear to age more gracefully(Who knows?). In my opinion women in general are so beautiful and special amongst all God's creations.

One thing I would like people to know is that like their white sisters black Divas have different complexities of hair with varying degrees of hair quality and textures ranging from nice very tight curls ( the kinky look) to lovely natural straight wavy curls ( my personal favorite texture) right down to straight, stringy and fine textured hair. This isn't hard to understand since here in the USA anyone with a drop of black DNA is categorized as black. Resulting in skin complexions ranging from black, to brown, bronze and right down Caucasian in complexion. With the wide variety of DNA come a wide variety of hair qualities.

Racism and stereotypes die hard and perhaps what negative assumptions boils down to is  jealousy on the behalf of the misinformed due to the fact that black women are so beautiful  and blessed with enduring youthful appearance. God only knows what bring out the Green-eyed monster against the innocent. Obviously Black Divas are amongst the most beautiful women in the world but they are also blessed with a wide range of hair textures and lengths.

If you believed wigs, hair pieces, extensions and weaves are modern day beauty enhancements and assume that until recently weaves were worn exclusively by Nubian women then you're sadly misinformed and living in a fools Paradise. The real deal girlfriends and nitty-gritty facts is that practically anyone who desires it has and continues to wear weaves and various forms of wigs; Ranging from Black, Hispanic, White, Asian and everyone in-between can and do wear weave. And I saw if you look good and feel good sporting your weave than more power to you!

Withing Africa, the mother land, India, Asia and other ancient civilizations like Africa's Egypt weaves and wigs have been perfected and elevated to a high beauxarts. Hair has always been considered a form of self-expression. Ancient Egyptians often shaved their heads and designed elaborate hair pieces, ornaments and wigs out of fake and actual human hair. Surprisingly men's hair gear was often more flamboyant than women's.

In the USA many people where surprised to learn that White women have secretly been wearing various hair weaves & extension for centuries. Hollywood's entertainment  industry and within the theater performers have embraced wigs, hair pieces, braids and hair weaves as mandatory parts of wardrobes and well kept beauty enhancement secrets.

English aristocracy were no strangers to wigs and hair extensions either; In truth powdered white wigs and fanciful hair pieces were worn amongst the wealthy of both sexes females and males. In fact these hair pieces which may look pretty silly to some of use where a fashion statement amongst the supposed upper classes. Believe it or not many of the elaborate white powdered wigs and hair pieces are still a tradition and still adorned during meeting of Parliament/Government and by officers of the high Britain court,.

Throughout history women & girls have been groomed and undergone extreme transformations which were often painful & uncomfortable in the pursuit of beautification. Hair and a woman's appearance has  such a vital importance throughout history that it was common for young maidens to be rounded up at some king, Emperor or tyrant's command and herded into areas such as sex slaves forced to undergo beautification & seduction classes. In addition some of these young maidens were schooled in the etiquette of the royal court and submitted to all manner of overhaul rituals. Weaves and  hair pieces were part of the beautification process after wards the made-over maidens were presented to the king's bed chamber in turn.

In Japan Geisha's have worn expensive heavy black wigs as part of their costume which always included many kinds of hair augmentation, prior to their formal debut before male clientele and excited audiences awaiting entertainment. Which further proves that hair weaves and wigs have been used for centuries.

Hair weaves are use for a wide range of reasons from a quick ready made hair style to supplementation of too short and/or balding hair. Braids, another type of hair extension, also originated in Africa, as far back as 500 B.C. Braids were incorporated into early artwork, such as the Sphinx. African women wore attractive braids as a indicator of age, religion, wealth and marital status. Braids were also convenient, long wearing and cool, since they expose the scalp to direct air which helps cool and regulate body temperature. Amongst African and American black women braids have always been in style.
For Caucasian and other cultures who often copied the look of braids fall in and out of love with braids often according to fads.

Amongst many other cultures hairdo's, weave, wigs and braids are often whimsical in nature being determined by popularity at the time for the look. During the early 20th century, the only way to achieve the full look of the trendy Pompadour was to utilize hair extensions and various hair frames to give the style its necessary lift. Other popular hair weaves during that time included the frizzette braids again. While the 1940s see hair weaves had secretly become commonplace amongst white women. Ironic since the stereotype of hair weaves in the USA  were almost exclusively associated with stylish American Nubian culture.

Hair weaves do more than merely add length. Women who want to experiment with colors, textures and styles add versatility to their style & can explore and experiment at will.

Hair weaving is the process of adding synthetic or human hair to ones natural hair. Salon workers use various methods of weaving adding this hair from; sewing it in, gluing tracks to the scalp or even strand by strand hair weaving in which small bunches of strands of hair are glued directly to the clients own hair. You have to do your home work Hairnistas and decide which is the best method for you.

There are entire corporations devoted to hair weaving and hair plugs for men such as,"Hair Club for Men" Several nonsurgical techniques are offered at these facilities and the hundred of these men's hair clubs claim they can utilize hair weaving to cover up balding and thinning spots.

When it comes to hair or the lack of it people can make it an obsession but it's important to remember that moderation is best and you should do your own in depth research and select an experienced beautician who is experienced with handing your texture of hair.

Well I given you some fundamentals now you can investigate and decide if weaves, wigs, half wigs, braids/hair extension, hair pieces, hair plugs or what ever floats your boat and suits your face is what you're looking for. It's time to go on an adventure!
