Tiease's Eyebrow Intervention Guide

Your hair naturally grows in follicles that contain groupings of 1-4 hairs. Modern eyebrow transplantation uses your naturally occurring 1–4 hair "follicular units" in their natural groupings. Thus new hair transplantation can result in a natural appearance by mimicking natural  hair.
A. Strip Harvesting - a strip of scalp is removed under local anesthesia, the wound is then sutured back together and this piece of scalp tissue is then cut in to small pieces of tissue called grafts which are then transplanted back in to the thinning area of the patients head. This method will leave a linear scar in the donor area, which should be covered by a patients hair (if long). The recovery period is around 2 weeks and will require the stitches to be removed by medical personnel.

B. Follicular Unit Extraction or (FUE) Harvesting - individual follicles of hair are removed under local anesthesia; this micro removal uses tiny punches of between 0.6mm and 1.25mm in diameter. Each follicle is then reinserted back in to the scalp in the thinning area using a micro blade. Because individual follicles are removed, only small, scars remain and any post-surgical pain is minimized. As no suture removal is required,

An eyebrow transplant is a form of hair transplant surgery focusing specifically on the eyebrows, a procedure which people usually desire due to change in shape or loss of hair resulting from an injury. Hair from the scalp is most commonly used for eyebrow transplants, as this is the closest match to eyebrow hair in terms of color and consistency. Body hairs and other hairs available for transplantation are  thicker and usually not the best  texture, meaning that the eyebrows would appear noticeably distinct from the rest of the upper face if this hair were used.
Eyebrow transplant surgery uses similar technique of a hair transplants. First harvesting and extracting sets of healthy hair follicles from your donor site and implanting them into the brow line. This may be accomplished with strip harvesting, which leaves a visible scar, or with newer and more discreet follicular unit extraction (FUE). Removing all of the excess fatty tissue, plus unwanted dermal and epidermal skin levels, which is crucial due to the brow's proximity to the eye. With any surgery their is a real potential for infection and any other relevant complications to develop associated with the procedure, but good hygienic care on your and your surgeon behalf helps reduce the risk of infection and don't pick with the eyebrow after your procedure.

The amount of follicular units needed for a successful transplant depends on your chosen shape and the amount of hair loss in your brows. Your surgeon will have made an estimate beforehand, and this factor can affect the price. When the hair follicles are transplanted into the brow line, small circular incisions are used so there will be scares which should be hidden by new hair growth.
Recovery time should be short, though you can expect swelling and bruising in the first few days. Swelling should be limited to the area around your eyebrows. When performed correctly discomfort and inflammation are minimal.
